Tokyo

Walking through the town of Hakone I am struck that it feels like a holy place. The mountains are thickly covered with lush forest and mist hangs above the tree tops. It’s like living in the clouds of a tropical rainforest. I suspect the inhabitants live into their hundreds. The serenity is off the charts and I’m a bit sad to leave.

At about 30 mins into our train trip, we were told that there was an accident on the tracks… so we had to find an alternate way to Tokyo. I’m so glad we had a guide to help us figure out an alternative.

Tokyo:

We wandered the streets and joined the chaos.  We stopped into a games cafe and played Pong!

Caught up to the group and had a final beer together  all the staff were dressed up for Halloween.

Our hotel is the Shinjuku Washington Hotel. We had a pretty low-key day for Tokyo.  I figured out the laundry, with difficulty.

Time for bed!
